Job Description:
Seeking a staff elder to complement our existing team of 5 elders in shepherding our community church. Staff elder primary responsibilitues would include long term planning for the church and ministries, community engagement oversight with other churches and para-church organizations, and oversight of the worship service to include significant preaching opportunities. Staff elder position complements existing giftedness and availability of current elders, and may change over time dependent on the composition of the elders. Current ministry positives include large physical plant with new worship center, numerous other evangelical churches and para-church organizations working well together in the community, spiritually mature congregation ready to engage with community for the gospel, and sound financial situation. Opportinities include helping a well educated middle class congregation engage with a blue collar urban ministry in the surrounding community, and working collaboratively with other pastors who have full time vocational jobs as equals in a shared pastoring setting with a congregation more familiar with a single pastor model of shepherding.
